St Angela Ursuline SchoolSt Angela Ursuline School is a Roman Catholic school built in 1862 with over 800 pupils the school. St. Angela’s is a multi-ethnic, voluntary-aided Technology College in the London Borough of Newham, one of the most socio-economically disadvantaged areas in the country. Pupils are drawn from across the whole LEA from Canning Town to Forest Gate.
RequirementThe main school hall has capacity for over 400 pupils and was fitted out with legacy PA equipment, the school required a simple to use lectern based system that would integrate with the existing PA speakers and provide an automated solution for projector, screen, PC/laptop switching and microphone control.
The school hall has a large number users from internal staff to external presenters and lecturers, the system has to be simple to use and intuitive offering the users a limited number of options to control the room effectively with limited or no technical assistance.
SolutionITSL provided a self contained 25U oak finished lectern to house the new equipment, the specification that was provided enabled all of the equipment to be controlled via a 4” touch panel, this enabled the user to turn on system, lower the projector screen and specify the Laptop, DVD or PC input to be sent to the projector. Also integrated were volume controls for the lectern mounted gooseneck microphone and program audio levels.
As part of our standard offering for lectern of this type we recommend a 15-17” touch screen repeater monitor for the presenter, this allows the presenter to see the presentation as well as taking control via the screen of the mouse and keyboard provided.
