Thermal Imaging Detection Cameras

What are Thermal Imaging cameras?

A thermal imaging detection camera is simply a camera that detects infrared energy. Infrared energy is not visible to the human eye
and can only be detected by special hardware since infrared light is outside the visual light spectrum.

How do thermal imaging detection cameras work?

A thermal imaging detection camera has the ability to capture both normal footage and infrared footage. The main use of this camera is to detect individuals with abnormally high body temperature and alert personnel when that happens. Because of that most of these cameras often have two lenses. One is to detect normal light and the other to detect infrared light.

They are always separated since there is a big difference in the material from which the lenses are created. Normal glass lenses block out infrared light. Most thermal imaging detection cameras will also feature a face recognition module that allows companies to better monitor who is coming in and out of the facility.

Where are thermal imaging detection cameras used?

After the start of the pandemic thermal cameras were in high demand since they are one of the most efficient ways to provide access control.Even as talk of the pandemic is subsiding and vaccines are coming out many companies still want to employ this technology as an extra safety measure.

Outside of crowd control thermal cameras are also used in hospitals to monitor patients 24/7 and during complicated surgeries.

Even without the facial recognition capability thermal cameras are still used in a wide range of industries from detecting leaking pipes to rescuing people in remote dark areas and bad weather conditions.
