The 1st Battalion rifles are based out of Beachley Barracks, Chepstow and are one of the largest and most active battalions is the UK recently serving many front line tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.


The barracks church is used on a regular basis for worship, weddings and sadly on a more regular basis, funerals. The church required a high quality and reliable PA system to enable speakers to be heard clearly and audio to be played at volume with clarity. The QM responsible for this requirement had stated from the outset that the budget was fixed and limited, with this ITSL Group took this challenge of providing a high quality system.

ITSL Group planned the design carefully ensuring to utilise the budget where is would be most effective, being partners with Turbosound; a UK company providing high quality speakers since 1970 who provide what we believe to be an excellent product, we utilised 8 Turbosound Impact 55T speakers running from Crown XLS series power amplifiers. For the mixing we specified a small Soundcraft mixing desk and for the program audio we provided a Denon Professional rack mounted CD player. The microphone specification is always a difficult as there is such a wide range in price for similar items, we opted for Shure gooseneck, lapel and wireless boundary microphone to offer a high quality, flexible and reliable solution.
