Setting up your meeting rooms for Microsoft Teams

The return to offices is once again postponed. In this scenario, organisations continue to rely on remote collaboration and  the work from home environments. Moreover, as businesses are still adapting to the new trends and working conditions, it becomes apparent that connectivity between employees and teams is crucial.

Businesses’ are spoiled for choice with digital collaboration and communication platforms but the surge in WFH during the pandemic had yielded to clear winners – Microsoft Teams with 75 million daily active users and San Jose’s Zoom (who have not released numbers just yet). We briefly discuss why MS Teams is a great solution and how to move forward with its technical setup. For more information on Zoom check this article.

What is Microsoft Teams and how to use it?

Teams is a virtual collaborative space for organisations. The App offers a communication centre with chat, collaboration and video conference features. It also comes with files sharing and storage capabilities. Additionally, MS Teams can integrate with third-party software and provides enhanced security for all stored and shared data.

All these features make Microsoft Teams a preferable solution for all organisations – big and small. It can effectively be used by employees in a business, by teachers and students and even by entrepreneurs and third-party contractors.

Benefits of using Microsoft Teams

The platform is carefully crafted to provide everything needed for a flawless working process:

  • One touch meeting joining and scheduling
  • HD Audio and Video connectivity
  • Numerous chat features
  • Integration with third-party software
  • Flexible data sharing capabilities
  • Enhanced security

Setting up properly

Microsoft Teams is directly accessible via Microsoft’s official website. You can access teams with your office 365 licence if you have  Business Essentials, Business Premium Enterprise (E1, E3, or E5) or Enterprise E4 (for anyone who purchased this plan prior to its retirement). If you need to sign up,  simply choose a subscription plan that suits you and login with your Microsoft account. Even though MS Teams comes with many features and add-ons, the package does not include hardware (TV sets, cameras, microphones etc.), nor does it offer setup for these.

The good news is that AV companies can provide such services. For example, ITSL Group can advise you on what hardware systems and setup will best fit your current infrastructure. We will give you personalised advice and will implement the system setup. Also, what makes us a preferable partner is that ITSL Group is an independent AV integrator. This means that the choice of hardware will be focused on meeting your demands, not any pre-agreed obligations to hardware vendors.

ITSL provides and installs hardware equipment suitable for huddle rooms, meeting rooms and boardrooms among other room types. Our solutions include everything you need to ensure a smooth connection and a productive meeting. This includes:

  • Presentation systems
  • Projection systems
  • Lighting design & control
  • Boardroom Automation
  • PA Systems

No matter how complex or large your MS Teams project is, our specialists will ensure that your team will stay connected and productive in only a few clicks. Check out our services for more info!
